Favorite teaching moment: When we are having interesting discussions as a whole class and students are sharing information they have learned previously inside and outside of the classroom. I love it when students are teaching each other and even surprising me by relating what we are learning in the classroom to current and/or historical events in the world.

Favorite movie: Out of Africa

Favorite teaching moment: While teaching art several years ago, the kids were working with clay, and many of them were struggling to get it to look like the animals they were trying to make. One kid had made something really realistic and the others were amazed and asked him how. He began to explain and give them help. It was great to see him blossom with his art since he had a hard time academically.

PharmD University of Cincinnati

I live in the St. Pius X neighborhood with my husband and three children. We are parishioners at SPX and our children attend school here!

I grew up in Toledo, attending Blessed Sacrament for elementary school and Notre Dame Academy for high school. I then did my undergraduate studies at the University of Cincinnati College of Arts and Sciences, and went on to earn a doctorate in pharmacy (PharmD) from the University of Cincinnati College of Pharmacy in 2006. I am a licensed pharmacist – with a flare for the dramatic!

In fifth grade, I was introduced to theater and was instantly drawn to it. I attended classes at CTW (The Children’s Theatre Workshop) for 8 years and participated in many productions – both on stage and behind the scenes. I also appeared in four musicals at NDA and two musicals at SFS during high school.

I am excited to share my love of theater and the performing arts with the students of SPX!
